The U.S. military announced that it has carried out airstrikes in Iran following reports of multiple explosions in the country’s southern regions.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said the strikes began on Tuesday in response to Iranian attacks on three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian media reported explosions in the southern port city of Sirik, as well as on Qeshm Island and in Bandar Abbas.
