This report on the advance estimate of second‑quarter GDP will be updated as more information becomes available.

The Commerce Department’s advance estimate shows that U.S. economic growth slowed unexpectedly in the second quarter.

The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) released its advance estimate of second‑quarter GDP on Thursday, indicating an annualized growth rate of 1.5% for April through June. This falls short of the 2.1% increase projected by economists surveyed by LSEG.

A revised estimate for second‑quarter GDP is slated for release in late August, with the final revision scheduled for the end of September.
