Secretary of State Marco Rubio met today with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and senior Emirati officials in Abu Dhabi. The discussion covered President Trump’s memorandum of understanding with Iran, initiatives to ensure safe and unimpeded passage through the Strait of Hormuz, and the broader goal of regional peace and stability. Officials also highlighted the enduring strength of the U.S.–UAE partnership and ongoing collaboration in defense and trade. Secretary Rubio expressed appreciation for the UAE’s leadership and steadfast support, commended their courage and resilience amid Iranian provocations, and reiterated the United States’ commitment to the security of the Emirates.
