UFC Macau Main Event: Song Yadong Vs. Deiveson Figueiredo
Song Yadong enters Saturday’s event with a 22-9-1-1 record, while Deiveson Figueiredo heads into the bout with a 25-6-1 mark. Song ranks fifth in the UFC’s official bantamweight division, while Figueiredo checks in at No. 7.
This crucial matchup carries significant implications for the bantamweight division. The 28-year-old Song has remained near the top of the division for several years, but recent losses to Sean O’Malley and Petr Yan have delayed his path to championship contention. At 38, Figueiredo faces an urgent need for victory to extend his title shot opportunity before retirement. Figueiredo is 1-3 in his last four appearances and recently suffered a decision loss to Umar Nurmagomedov at UFC 324, where he also competed above his fighting weight.
Opening betting lines favored Song Yadong as a -300 favorite, which has shifted to -600, while Figueiredo is now a +425 underdog.
