The UFC returns to Paris for a stacked event featuring a pivotal lightweight showdown between veteran contender Dan Hooker and rising star Salahdine Parnasse. The highly anticipated bout headlines UFC Paris, scheduled for Saturday, September 5 at AccorArena in Paris, France.

Dan Hooker Looks to Snap Losing Streak

Dan Hooker enters Saturday’s main event looking to reverse a recent slide. Now 36 years old, Hooker has posted a 4-5 record since his December 2021 split decision loss to Dustin Poirier, with defeats coming against elite competition including Michael Chandler, Islam Makhachev, Arnold Allen, Arman Tsarukyan, and Benoit Saint Denis.

The New Zealander made his UFC debut in 2013 against Ian Entwistle, earning a first-round knockout victory at featherweight before transitioning to lightweight where he built momentum with wins over Ross Pearson, Jim Miller, and Gilbert Burns. Despite recent struggles, Hooker remains ranked No. 12 in the UFC’s lightweight division.

Parnasse Makes UFC Debut in Hometown

Salahdine Parnasse steps into the Octagon for the first time under the UFC banner, bringing a distinguished combat sports background. The 28-year-old French native captured the KSW featherweight title twice and reigned as KSW lightweight champion from April 2024 to April 2026, successfully defending his belt four times with knockout victories.

Parnasse secured his UFC opportunity following a TKO win under the MVP MMA banner. Speaking with Ariel Helwani earlier this summer, he emphasized how meaningful fighting in Paris represents: “After my fight with MVP, the UFC contacted me, and it was an opportunity—it was really simple. It was to be part of this main event in my hometown in Paris. So it was a really good opportunity for me, and I accepted.”

The promising prospect enters Saturday as a significant -600 favorite over the +425 underdog Hooker.
