On behalf of the United States, I extend congratulations to the people of Uganda on the 64th anniversary of their independence and wish them a joyous Independence Day.
The partnership between the United States and Uganda rests on mutual respect for sovereignty and a shared goal of building a more prosperous future. Over the past year, we have deepened commercial ties, strengthened regional security cooperation, and collaborated to advance global public health.
I am confident that the enduring partnership between our nations will continue to thrive, creating greater opportunities for both peoples.
We extend our best wishes to the Ugandan people and look forward to further strengthening our partnership in the years ahead.
