UK sanctions on Israeli settlements fail to halt weapons transfers, documents reveal

Earlier this month, the UK government announced plans to cut off trade with Israel’s illegal settlements in the West Bank, including weapons shipments. However, new disclosures released to Parliament and reported on Thursday by Declassified UK show that the sanctions regime has not resulted in the suspension or revocation of any weapons licences. The findings lend credence to concerns raised by critics that the Labour government’s efforts to curb such trade have not yet materialised.
