Ukraine Urges EU to Maintain Sanctions Unity Amid Delisting Pressures

Vsevolod Chentsov, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, stated that Russia must take “real, concrete” steps toward peace before the European Union considers any easing of sanctions.

Chentsov emphasized the need for EU unity, particularly in light of France’s push to remove Uzbek-Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov from the sanctions list as part of diplomatic efforts to secure the release of two French nationals imprisoned in Azerbaijan.

Ahead of US President Donald Trump’s meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Chentsov expressed optimism about the potential outcome of their talks.
