Ukrainian drone attacks across Russia resulted in at least three fatalities, including a woman in the Belgorod region and a man and a 14-year-old in Lipetsk, where a fire broke out after a drone crash. A separate strike on a Wildberries logistics center in Tambov triggered a massive blaze that destroyed approximately 100,000 square meters of the facility.
Tambov Governor Yevgeny Pervyshov confirmed the warehouse was “completely destroyed by fire,” describing the affected area as equivalent to 14 football pitches. One person was injured in the attack, he said on Telegram, though he did not confirm whether the fire had been fully extinguished.
The overnight strike targeted the Wildberries facility in Kotovsk, roughly 500 kilometers southeast of Moscow. Additionally, an industrial site in the Nizhny Novgorod region sustained damage in another drone attack, according to local officials.
Ukraine has increasingly targeted Russian e-commerce infrastructure since mid-July, including facilities operated by Wildberries and its main competitor, Ozon. These companies dominate one of the few rapidly growing sectors of Russia’s economy, which remains otherwise stagnant following more than four years of war in Ukraine.
Kyiv has accused Wildberries of being involved in Russia’s military supply chain, a claim both the company and Moscow reject, asserting that the facilities serve civilian purposes.
Russia’s Ministry of Defence reported that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed 426 Ukrainian drones overnight, including over areas in Russian-occupied Ukraine. Despite mutual denials, both sides have stepped up cross-border strikes in recent months, leading to rising civilian casualties.
