Ukraine has regained full access to Starlink and Starshield satellite services, restoring connection speeds essential for frontline operations, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Saturday. In a post on X, Zelenskyy confirmed that the restoration began overnight and was fully operational by Saturday morning, thereby enhancing logistical efficiency and defensive capabilities against Russian Shahed drones.
The development comes amid renewed diplomatic efforts to de‑escalate the conflict. Russia has agreed to resume trilateral negotiations with the United States and Ukraine next month, while Kyiv and Moscow have also instituted a localized ceasefire around Oleshky—a war‑torn town in the occupied Kherson region—brokered by First Lady Melania Trump.
MP Oleksander Merezhko, who chairs Ukraine’s Foreign Policy Committee, has called for former U.S. official Witkoff’s resignation, citing the recent satellite disruptions as a setback to Ukrainian defense and humanitarian operations.
