July 4 (Reuters) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced on Saturday that he held a conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump over the Fourth of July holiday and urged “American resolve” to help bring an end to the conflict that has persisted for more than four years.
He described the exchange as “very good,” noting that they discussed developments on the front lines.
“There is a genuine opportunity to bring this war to a close, and American resolve will play a pivotal role,” he said.
Both leaders confirmed they would continue their dialogue at next week’s NATO summit in Turkey.
