Ultra-Orthodox protesters blocked the entrance to the IDF’s Central Command headquarters in Jerusalem on Tuesday, with videos shared online showing them impeding soldiers from entering the facility.
The demonstrators, protesting against mandatory conscription for ultra-Orthodox men, were observed blocking part of the gate, shouting at soldiers, and preventing them from passing.
Footage posted online showed police officers attempting to disperse the protest, with IDF personnel trying to clear the blocked entrance while the ultra-Orthodox protesters remained seated, obstructing access.
Neither the military nor the police have released any official statements regarding the incident.
During a prior demonstration on Monday, ultra-Orthodox men attempted to board a Jerusalem light‑rail train, halted traffic on Bar Ilan Street, and were later dispersed by police.
Traffic on the street resumed after the confrontation.
On Sunday, Israel Police reported the arrest of an additional individual who had damaged a construction site and clashed physically with workers.
According to police, the rioters entered a light‑rail work compound, damaged infrastructure, tried to block traffic, and disrupted public order. A police officer declared a public disorder incident and ordered the rioters to evacuate the area.
