Foreign workers in South Africa are once again experiencing violence and protests from anti-immigrant groups. These groups allege that the workers reside and operate in the country illegally, demanding their departure by June 30.
Over the past decade, South Africa has encountered recurring waves of anti-immigrant violence, often specifically targeting nationals from other African countries.
Since the end of apartheid in 1994, the nation has attracted thousands of workers from neighboring nations. However, many South Africans assert that the government fails to enforce immigration laws effectively.
This raises the question: Does South Africa still require the contributions of foreign workers?
