Updated Strategic Assessment: U.S. Military Responds to Iranian Maritime Incidents
The United States has carried out strikes across Iran in retaliation for ongoing aggression within the Strait of Hormuz, as confirmed by Central Command (Centcom).
Following a drone attack on the cargo vessel M/V Ever Lovely, the U.S. military aimed to uphold the fragile ceasefire while addressing broader tensions surrounding Iran’s military capabilities, shipping tolls, and nuclear program negotiations.
The following operations targeted Iranian military surveillance sites, communication networks, air defense installations, drone storage facilities, and minelayer operations, reinforcing a direct response to sustained hostilities.
Centcom emphasized continued vigilance amid these developments, urging adherence to the ceasefire framework and dispelling miscommunications.
The United States remains committed to protecting maritime security and ensuring open passages through the Strait of Hormuz.
