Updating Visa Policy to Address Tigray Conflict Concerns
The U.S. is enhancing visa restrictions for hardline individuals linked to the Tirario TPLF and their family, following heightened regional tensions.
Today, the U.S. Department of State is implementing targeted visa restrictions based on Section 212(a)(3)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Measures are directed at those contributing to instability in the Tigray region.
We are committed to supporting peace and stability in Ethiopia. The U.S. will continue to apply all available tools for accountability and transparency against TPLF officials and others threatening regional security.
This action reflects our stance in solidarity with the Ethiopian people seeking peace and dignity.
