Iranian state media, including Press TV, reported explosions in southern Iran on Wednesday morning, specifically in Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, and Sirik.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced a series of strikes targeting Iran, aiming to deter further attacks on commercial vessels with civilian crews in international waters.
The semi-official Fars News Agency reported 10 explosions in Sirik and four in Mesen on Qeshm Island early Wednesday.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemned the US Treasury’s decision to revoke the temporary suspension of sanctions on Iranian oil sales, accusing Washington of breaching the memorandum of understanding. Tehran stated it would take necessary actions to protect its national security and economic interests.
The ministry further alleged that the US had violated the agreement repeatedly over the past 20 days, either directly or via actions impacting Lebanon.
