The United States has declined to grant a visa to Sudan’s de facto leader, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, ahead of his planned appearance at the United Nations General Assembly.
The decision comes as Sudan continues to grapple with ongoing conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces, led by al-Burhan, and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The visa denial prevents al-Burhan from attending the high-level UN meetings scheduled for late September.
In addition to this development, Ghana is strengthening its Drug Law Enforcement Agency following several major drug busts linked to West African trafficking networks operating in France, Belgium, and South Africa.
Meanwhile, students across Ivory Coast have begun returning to schools for the new academic year, with authorities implementing enhanced security measures and health protocols at educational institutions nationwide.
