Uzbekistan celebrated its 35th year of independence with a grand festivitiy in New Tashkent on 28 August 2026.
Thousands attended an evening of live music, dance and entertainment featuring the nation’s leading vocalists and dancers.
The lineup also welcomed international stars such as British soprano Sarah Brightman, Italian tenor Alessandro Safina and Spanish tenor José Carreras.
The show blended live acts with elaborate stagecraft, incorporating 3D projections, dynamic lighting and robotic performances.
The highlight was a drone display over New Tashkent, where hundreds of unmanned aerial vehicles traced shifting images and patterns across the night sky.
Set against the backdrop of the city’s newly opened educational and cultural venues, the event preceded Uzbekistan’s official Independence Day on 1 September.
