Vaibhav Sooryavanshi did not feature in the fifth and final T20I of the series against England. After a modest start to his international career, the 15‑year‑old was omitted from the Rose Bowl match and was captured in tears at the conclusion of play on Saturday, July 11. A clip showing his emotional reaction quickly went viral as England secured a 4‑0 victory.
He made his T20I debut in the second match of the series in Manchester, scoring only 14 runs before being dismissed. Subsequent innings yielded 13 runs in Nottingham and 15 in his third T20I appearance in Bristol. Consequently, selectors removed him from the lineup, recalling the seasoned batsman Sanju Samson.
At the close of the fifth T20I, as teammates exchanged handshakes and returned to the dressing room, Sooryavanshi was observed seated in the dugout, visibly distraught. Online commentary indicated that he was upset over his omission, while others suggested he was disappointed by the team’s disjointed performance.

“We needed to try the best combination that would be perfect on these conditions. And we also wanted a right-hander to go on with Abhishek. So, that was one of the major reasons. And if you see, I was the only one out of all the left-handers who was a right-hander. As I mentioned earlier, we wanted to try a different combination which would be suitable for this particular game. And he’s [Samson] a gun batsman. He has won so many series for us in the past,” Iyer said at the post-match press conference.

- Denise O’Sullivan Expected to Depart Liverpool After Just Six Months</TITLE]Liverpool’s record-breaking signing, Denise O’Sullivan, is anticipated to depart the club this summer, marking an abrupt end to her tenure just six months after her arrival.Current indications suggest a return to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) is the most probable outcome, with Gotham FC currently favored to secure her signature. The Republic of Ireland international arrived at Liverpool in January for a fee of £300,000 and has established herself as a standout performer during her brief stint. Her potential exit represents a significant setback for the Reds, who are currently undergoing a rebuilding phase following a difficult 2025-26 campaign.During her time with Liverpool, O’Sullivan has featured in 13 matches, including nine league appearances, playing a vital role in helping Gareth Taylor’s squad reach the Women’s FA Cup semi-finals.Reports indicate that O’Sullivan’s transfer may involve an initial one-year loan period that includes an obligation-to-buy clause.Sources have informed BBC Sport that Liverpool are engaged in constructive negotiations with both O’Sullivan and Gotham FC, and the club expects to command a substantial fee for her transfer. The decision to leave Liverpool is believed to be motivated by personal considerations, as O’Sullivan seeks a return to the United States. She previously enjoyed a highly successful nine-season career with the North Carolina Courage, where she made over 150 appearances and served as captain. The 32-year-old brings immense international experience to the table, boasting 132 caps for the Republic of Ireland and playing a crucial role in their recent Women’s World Cup qualifying efforts. While Liverpool intend to remain active in the transfer market following three recent acquisitions, the loss of O’Sullivan—compounded by the inability to secure goalkeeper Jennifer Falk on a permanent deal—presents a challenge to the club’s summer objectives.
