Team India are set to play the fifth and final T20I against the West Indies, with the five‑match series locked 2‑2. India secured an eight‑wicket win in the opener at Lucknow, but the West Indies responded with a six‑wicket victory in Ranchi to level the series. A 14‑run triumph in the third match at Indore put India back in front, only for the visitors to post 247/3 in the fourth game in Hyderabad and hand India a 24‑run defeat, leaving the series tied.
Ahead of the series decider at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium, young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi was spotted at the airport with his teammates. The 15‑year‑old attracted attention when a bystander captured him on camera, and he responded with a light‑hearted comment in Hindi.
Captured wearing a black hoodie and black track pants while handling his luggage, Suryavanshi joked, “Reel ke chakkar main thuk jaoge aap.” The remark added a playful moment ahead of the crucial encounter scheduled for Saturday, October 17.

Despite travelling with the squad, Suryavanshi has not yet appeared in India’s playing XI during this T20I series. The management has continued with Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson as the opening pair. In previous outings, the young prodigy last featured in the Asian Games 2026 and shone on India’s tour of Zimbabwe, scoring 151 runs at an average of 50.33 and a strike rate of 196.10, including two half‑centuries.
With the series on the line, speculation persists over whether the selectors will reward his recent form by introducing Suryavanshi into the XI for the final match.
