Bessemer Venture Partners Announces $5.75 Billion AI-Centric Funding Surge
Bessemer Venture Partners announced on Wednesday that it has raised $5.75 billion across two new funds to accelerate its investment across all parts of the AI stack. The firm, which has backed companies such as Anthropic, Cognition, Legora, Perplexity, Ramp, Shopify and Waymo, dedicated $1.75 billion for seed and early-stage investing and the remaining $4 billion for growth startups.
Recognized as a leading venture capital firm in the SaaS era—particularly noted for selecting enterprise winners like Box, DocuSign, and Gainsight—Bessemer has since invested in more than 260 AI-native companies since 2022. To date, the organization has reported $3 billion invested in AI-related startups, a portion focused on artificial compute, infrastructure, foundation models, development tooling, application-layer innovations, and agentic technology.
According to Bessemer Partner Byron Deeter, AI-native companies are currently scaling faster than any previous category of technology the firm had backed before. Deeter highlighted that rising operational expenses and prolonged private financing periods have created a permanent structural shift within the industry, necessitating that VCs continue to expand their capital reserves to capture emerging opportunities.
