Vehicle Strikes Crowd at Berlin Pride Celebration, Multiple Injuries Reported

Several people were injured Saturday at a Berlin Pride event after a vehicle reportedly plowed into a crowd in the city center, according to police.

Authorities have launched an intensive manhunt and are urging the public to avoid the area surrounding Tiergarten park, where the incident occurred.

Emergency services are treating the injured at the scene. The annual Christopher Street Day celebration has been cancelled as a result.

“We believe that a vehicle entered Tiergarten park and hit several people, injuring them,” police stated on social media.

Images from the scene show a heavy emergency response presence, including numerous police officers and fire department rescue units. At least one person was seen being loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher.

The exact number of casualties has not yet been confirmed.

Earlier in the day, large crowds had participated in a parade through the city that concluded near the park for evening festivities.
