Vice President JD Vance announced the arrival of his fourth child, a son, alongside his wife, Usha Vance.
Alec Neel Vance entered the world on Sunday morning, according to a statement the vice‑president shared on social media.
He added, “Usha and the baby are doing well, and our other children are thrilled to welcome their new little brother,” while expressing gratitude to the medical team at Walter Reed Military Medical Center.
This marks the first birth to a sitting vice‑president in over 150 years, the Associated Press noted.
The couple already have three children: Ewan, age nine; Vivek, six; and Mirabel, four.
Usha Vance grew up in a working‑class suburb of San Diego, California; her father is a mechanical engineer and her mother, a molecular biologist who emigrated from India.
She met JD Vance in 2010 while studying at Yale Law School, where they both participated in a discussion group on “social decline in white America.”
