Virender Sehwag’s ‘Rise & Fall’ Season 2 to Premiere on Prime Video in September With First Four of 15 Contestants Unveiled

Virender Sehwag-hosted reality competition “Rise & Fall Season 2” will launch on Prime Video in September, with the first four contestants confirmed for its 42-day run.

Produced by Banijay Asia, the series will be available free of charge on Prime Video and the MX Player Android app, now branded as MX Player by Prime Video. New episodes are set to arrive daily. The confirmed lineup includes Swara Bhasker, Shehzad Poonawalla, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and Karan Patel, while the remaining 11 contestants will be announced later.

Adapted from the U.K. format created by Studio Lambert, the show is built around a fluid hierarchy that moves contestants between “Ruler” and “Worker” positions. Their status is determined by decisions made during the game rather than by scripted outcomes.

Chahar Choudhary, who has previous reality television experience, said the format adds a new layer to the genre by making power temporary and dependent on players’ choices. She said she plans to trust her instincts, stay true to herself and adapt as the competition changes.

Bhasker said the mix of strong personalities and differing viewpoints should create compelling dynamics once power and strategy come into play.

Patel, known for his long run in Indian television drama, said the show gives him the chance to compete as himself rather than through a character. He said he is looking forward to the challenge of making decisions, standing by them and continuing to push as the game shifts.

Poonawalla said the show’s premise reflects his own experiences with highs and lows and that he is drawn to environments where strong opinions can surface. He said contestants will need to form alliances or take opposing sides as the game evolves, adding that he has little patience for those who belittle Bharat or its history and joking about the benefit of not paying rent for six weeks.

“Rise & Fall Season 2” is scheduled to stream free from Sept. 26 on Prime Video and the MX Player Android app.
