Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield and Kevin Morby Welcome First Child

Indie musicians Katie Crutchfield, known professionally as Waxahatchee, and Kevin Morby have welcomed their first child together. The couple shared the news via a post on Morby’s Substack newsletter.

Morby wrote that he had just returned from a European tour when their son arrived two weeks early. “The tour—as amazing as it was—was somewhat tense having to leave a very pregnant Katie at home,” he noted. “We all found ourselves holding our collective breath that he wouldn’t come too early. And like clockwork, I was home all but eight hours before Katie’s water broke. I like to think that the little guy waited for me.”

Citing the birth, Morby confirmed he would withdraw from this weekend’s Eaux Claires Festival lineup.
