Brooklyn Getaway Revives Family Bonds Amid Summer Triples
Jimmy’s on the left, my brother’s the tall one!
Last summer, my brother Nick and cousin Jimmy traveled from England to visit us in Brooklyn — and this summer, they returned! We were delighted to welcome them back. Below is a selection of photos from a memorable weekend.
While Toby was out of town, Jimmy and Anton took the lead planning the itinerary. They explored the Friends building, enjoys a lively game of soccer in Central Park, and relished plenty of Walkers crisps.
After several days in the city, we drove to my friend Sharon’s residence in Connecticut. I was eager to meet her, and the boys were thrilled to showcase her impressive pool. Sharon shared that she wanted to give her neighbors a memorable experience.
The children splashed around in the water and bounced on the trampoline.
Their snack platter proved surprisingly easy to digest—absolutely crushed it.
Later, Jimmy made his first oyster bite, remarking that it “tasted like the ocean” and wasn’t too bad.
A memorable even ending featured Sharon and I playing Rummikub, a lively tabletop game participants love.
As our journey concluded, we all headed home.
Evenings ended with quiet moments watching *Love Is Blind*, a feel‑good classic that underscored the joyous atmosphere of the trip.
