The World Health Organization has officially declared Uganda free of Ebola, even as a severe and rapidly expanding outbreak in the neighboring Democratic Republic of the Congo continues to claim lives. According to local health authorities, the DRC epidemic has resulted in at least 2,744 deaths out of 5,713 confirmed cases.
