Strikers James Wilson and Findlay Curtis have departed the Scotland senior squad to represent the Under-21 team in their upcoming match against Azerbaijan on Wednesday.
The Hearts striker and Rangers winger had been training in Spain as part of the 27-man squad selected by head coach Sebastien Pocognoli, but they will now miss the Nations League matches away to Slovenia and at home to Switzerland on Saturday and Tuesday.
The pair could return to the senior setup for the October 3rd trip to North Macedonia and the subsequent home match against Slovenia three days later.
The Under-21s are also away to Bulgaria on the same day as the latter fixture.
Wilson, who has scored five goals for Hearts this season, became Scotland’s youngest men’s international player at 18 years and 17 days old when he earned the first of his two caps as a substitute against Greece in March 2025.
Curtis has made five appearances for Scotland and is the nation’s youngest World Cup player following late substitute appearances against Haiti and Brazil in the USA this summer.
