The Winnipeg Jets have agreed to a one‑year, two‑way contract with defenseman Henry Thrun, carrying an NHL average annual value of $850,000.

The 25‑year‑old Massachusetts native played most of the previous season with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, helping them capture the Calder Cup. Standing 6‑foot‑2 and weighing 211 pounds, the left‑shooting defender recorded five goals and 18 assists for 23 points in 55 regular‑season games, then added two goals and seven assists for nine points in 24 playoff contests.

He also appeared in four games for the Toronto Maple Leafs without registering a point, and the club did not extend a qualifying offer, leaving him as an unrestricted free agent.

Selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the fourth round (101st overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft, Thrun has accumulated 123 NHL games with the San Jose Sharks and Toronto Maple Leafs, tallying five goals and 20 assists for 25 points. He is expected to serve as a defensive depth piece for Winnipeg in the 2026‑27 season.

Thrun becomes the fourth free‑agent addition for the Jets this offseason, joining defenseman Mario Ferraro, forward Noah Gregor, and goaltender Stuart Skinner, all of whom were signed on July 1.
