How to Play Competitive Wordle

• Scoring: 1 point for a correct guess in three attempts, 2 points for two attempts, 1 point for three attempts, 0 points for four attempts, -1 point for five attempts, -2 points for six attempts, and -3 points for a missed word.
• Additional rules: beating an opponent grants 1 point, tying yields 0, and losing deducts 1 point. Fridays are worth double points.

Wordle Etymology

The term “scoop” likely derives from Middle Dutch references to a shovel, later adopting the sense of an exclusive news story.
