Ticket prices for the United States’ round of 16 clash against Belgium at Seattle’s Lumen Field have fallen more than 30 percent in recent days before a modest late-week recovery.
The get-in price — the lowest available ticket on the secondary market — peaked near $4,000 on June 1, according to tracking service TicketData.com. After sliding to $1,549 on Tuesday, prices jumped to $2,836 following the U.S. team’s 2-0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina that secured their knockout-stage berth.
Since then, the market has cooled steadily. By Saturday afternoon, the get-in price had dropped to $1,423 — a 32 percent decline over three days — before ticking back up to $1,635 by 6 p.m. ET (23:00 GMT).
That late rebound moved the USA-Belgium matchup from the fourth-highest to the second-highest get-in price among the eight round of 16 fixtures. Only Mexico’s Sunday showdown with England in Mexico City commands a higher floor, at $3,574.
ROUND OF 16 GET-IN PRICES (as of 6 p.m. ET, July 4):
- Mexico vs. England, July 5 (Houston): $3,574
- USA vs. Belgium, July 6 (Seattle): $1,635
- Argentina vs. Egypt, July 7 (Atlanta): $1,599
- Brazil vs. Norway, July 5 (New Jersey): $1,537
- Portugal vs. Spain, July 6 (Dallas): $1,367
- Switzerland vs. Colombia, July 5 (Vancouver): $972
- Paraguay vs. France, July 4 (Philadelphia): $914
- Canada vs. Morocco, July 4 (Houston): $721
The price decline for the U.S.-Belgium match is notable given Belgium’s proximity to the venue. The Red Devils have based their tournament operations at the Sounders FC Performance Center, just 16 kilometers (10 miles) south of Lumen Field. Monday will be Belgium’s third match in Seattle, following a 1-1 group-stage draw with Egypt and a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Senegal in the round of 32.
Elsewhere, Canada became the first team eliminated from the round of 16 after a 3-0 loss to Morocco on Saturday. The get-in price for that match fell 14 percent from $838 over the final 72 hours.
