- Hong Kong Police Seize $120 Million of Cocaine Hidden in Heavy‑Metal Containers[/TITLEOak]Police seized approximately HK$120 million (US$15.4 million) worth of cocaine hidden inside three heavy‑metal containers at a warehouse in northern Hong Kong, arresting three men.The raid, conducted Friday night in a 3,000‑sq‑ft tin‑sheeting warehouse on Kung Um Road in Yuen Long, found the suspects with tools to cut open two of the containers, said Senior Inspector Lam Pak‑kiu of the Narcotics Bureau. Each container measured roughly 1.6 metres long, 1 metre wide and 0.35 metres high, and weighed an estimated three tonnes.Investigators believe the drug syndicate concealed the cocaine within the containers and added layers designed to block X‑ray scanning in an attempt to evade detection.Police subsequently pried the containers open and uncovered 172 bricks of suspected cocaine, each weighing approximately 1 kg (2.2 lb).The three men, Pakistani nationals aged between 28 and 35, were arrested on suspicion of trafficking in dangerous drugs and are being held for questioning.
