Phil Parkinson is likely feeling the pressure as Wrexham manager for the first time, says former Wales striker Iwan Roberts.
Friday night’s 2-1 home loss to Birmingham left Wrexham without a win or a clean sheet in four matches across all competitions during the 2026-27 season.
Roberts told BBC Radio Wales: “I think he [Parkinson] is under pressure for the first time since joining Wrexham.”
“He has enjoyed tremendous success at the club. I think he is quite set in his ways tactically, reluctant to change, and that hasn’t hurt the team given their achievements.”
“But I have said this many times: when chasing a game and trailing with 15 or 20 minutes left, he still sticks with a back three instead of trying a back four to push another player forward.”
