Penta fell short to Roman Reigns in Mexico City, but WWE officials reportedly left the arena impressed. Facing one of the company’s top stars appears to have strengthened internal belief that Penta could eventually become World Champion.
According to Lucha Libre Online, WWE executives backstage at the September 14 episode of RAW were extremely pleased with his performance. While his in‑ring skills were already established, seeing him share the ring with Reigns in front of a passionate Mexico City crowd gave them a new perspective.
“All the executives who were backstage at RAW in CDMX are thrilled with PENTA’s performance. They acknowledge he’s an excellent wrestler, but seeing him dance in the same ring with Roman Reigns while the arena rallies behind him was a distinct highlight.”
“WWE now sees PENTA as a long‑term money maker, and today’s match reinforces the belief that he will someday hold the World Championship on the main roster. The performance made his credentials unmistakable to those who matter.”
The event generated strong ticket sales, possibly a record amount of revenue for WWE at the CDMX Arena.
