WWE Intercontinental Champion Chad Gable is confirmed to return to NXT at an upcoming event, with the announcement made via social media.

As Gable prepares to defend his title, speculation has mounted regarding other main roster champions bringing their gold to the Performance Center. Three titleholders are slated to make appearances.

Chad Gable is not only scheduled for this Friday’s NXT live event but will also put the Intercontinental Championship on the line against one of the brand’s rising prospects.

Saquon Shugars will challenge for Gable’s IC Title on September 25 at a non-televised live event hosted at the Township Auditorium in Columbia, South Carolina.

While Stephanie Vaquer recently captured the Women’s World Championship at a house show, a Shugars victory would be a significant upset given the momentum both competitors have built on their respective brands. Instead, the match serves as a measuring stick for the Performance Center talent, offering him the chance to prove he can compete with one of WWE’s most technically proficient grapplers.

Trick Williams and Baron Corbin will clash for the United States Championship one final time on September 25 inside a Steel Cage on SmackDown.

Regardless of the outcome, the victor would be a natural fit to return to NXT with the title. Numerous intriguing opponents await Williams, including former rivals such as Myles Borne, who has undergone a substantial character evolution since Williams’ last NXT appearance.
