The iconic figure known as Haku has been commemorated with a new WWE merchandise line celebrating his storied career. Recently reintroduced to primetime coverage, the wrestler is now honored through apparel that tributes a pivotal moment in his history.
Featured prominently is a
t-shirt bearing a realistic depiction of Haku mid-match, complete with his name embroidered across the back. This design directly references his infamous “nose” anecdote from wrestling lore.
Regarded as a playful childhood challenge between adults rather than a malicious gesture, the catchphrase gained new significance when Haku revealed its origins during a 2011 ProWrestling.net interview. The merchandise acts as both homage and clarification to this aspect of his controversial legacy.
Tracing back to March 3, 1989, at a Baltimore airport’s international terminal, tensions erupted when Haku and Siva Afi—displaying a blend of cultural pride and protective instinct—resisted derogatory remarks questioning wrestling’s authenticity. According to firsthand accounts preserved through televised interviews, the skirmish reached heightened intensity when one aggressor became the target of physical retribution.
In candid recollections, Haku described his visceral response: “My partner and I retreated to a quieter section with drinks nearby. As staff began shutting down operations, we encountered five individuals openly ridiculing our professions. My reaction wasn’t calculated—it was instinctual. There wasn’t four men seated together… I grabbed one’s face and extracted what they had to offer. Chaos ensued next.”
