Fightful Select reports that WWE sources indicate the decision to delay Worlds Collide’s live broadcast was strategically made to impact AEW All Out ticket sales, with the only option to view Worlds Collide live being in-person attendance. The report states this decision was made approximately one month ago.
Insiders reportedly did not anticipate AEW’s strong ticket sales for All Out, though WWE expressed satisfaction with Worlds Collide’s attendance figures.
During Friday’s SmackDown, WWE announced Worlds Collide would stream exclusively on YouTube this Wednesday at 7:00 pm ET, positioning the delayed broadcast against AEW Dynamite.
Per Wrestletix, tonight’s AEW All Out at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois has sold out with 9,338 tickets distributed. Meanwhile, Worlds Collide at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont has distributed 13,224 tickets with 529 remaining.
