Ethan Page, a WWE superstar, described a particularly painful spot he endured during the Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline 2024, during an appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet.
In the match, Page attempted to exit the penalty box, but Oba Femi forced him back inside. The resulting sequence saw Page’s head repeatedly striking the arena walls and his face being driven into the glass as the door opened, an incident he said rank among the most painful of his career.
“When I tried to swim out of the box, he hauled me back in, and my head bounced off the walls like a basketball before he slammed my face into the glass just as the door buzzed open. It was terrifying — this guy is a maniac, but he’s also a great competitor,” Page recalled.
The bout concluded with Femi securing the victory, while Page remained the sole competitor to achieve a pinfall against him.
Below is a video thumbnail of the match; the highlighted spot occurs approximately 25 minutes into the contest.
After being promoted to the main roster earlier this year, Femi quickly made an impact, defeating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42. He later suffered a loss to a veteran competitor at Clash in Italy on July 31, and a Hell in a Cell match has been set for SummerSlam.
The New Beast Incarnate
Since his debut in NXT, Oba Femi has established himself as a dominant force in the ring, a reputation that has persisted following his main roster arrival.
His confidence on the microphone, combined with relentless in‑ring performances, suggests he could become a top star for WWE.
A two‑time NXT Champion and former North American Champion, Femi captured the King of the Ring title at Night of Champions, earning a championship opportunity against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam.
While a world title seems inevitable, WWE’s decision to ease him into the main roster has given fans ample time to appreciate his abilities.
In 2024, Femi’s resume includes victories over Kit Wilson, The Miz, Johnny Gargano, Rusev, Grayson Waller, Otis, Los Garza (Angel & Berto), and a win over Jey Uso at the King of the Ring final in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His only defeat to date was to Lesnar at Clash in Italy.
Despite the loss, Femi’s momentum remains strong, reinforcing his status as the likely next “Beast Incarnate” in WWE.
