XRP could eventually surge to fresh all‑time highs, according to YouTuber Moon Lambo, who argues that the cryptocurrency’s extended period of subdued prices does not signal its demise.
In a recent post on X, Moon Lambo challenged the notion that XRP will never enter “price discovery” simply because it has not done so since 2017. He highlighted Quant (QNT) and Zcash (ZEC) as examples of assets that remained at low prices for years before experiencing dramatic price movements.
QNT and ZEC
Moon Lambo cited his own investments in QNT and ZEC to illustrate how a crypto asset can linger at low prices for years and still achieve substantial gains later.
He purchased QNT in 2023 for roughly $98. The token later declined to around $54 before rebounding to approximately $193, delivering an unrealized gain of about 97% from his purchase price. QNT’s price continued to climb, reaching near $352 before pulling back.
He also bought ZEC in 2021 for about $112. The token subsequently fell to around $20 but surged to roughly $1,700 this month, resulting in an unrealized gain of approximately 1,417%.
Both coins, Moon Lambo noted, spent several years at low price levels before making significant moves. In particular, he pointed out that ZEC did little for nearly a decade before its current breakout.
These examples, he believes, demonstrate that years of stagnant price action do not preclude a cryptocurrency from reaching new highs. Applying this logic to XRP, Moon Lambo argued that the asset has remained below its previous all‑time high of $3.84 for close to nine years.
XRP Below $3.84 for Nine Years
XRP peaked at approximately $3.84 in January 2018, its last recorded all‑time high according to CoinMarketCap. Although the token has experienced several strong rallies since then, it has yet to surpass that level.
Some investors question whether sufficient demand exists for XRP to achieve a new high. Moon Lambo countered that a prolonged period of slow price movement does not necessarily mean the asset will fail to rise again.
He advised skeptics to focus on XRP’s fundamentals rather than its historical price performance, emphasizing that utility can evolve over time.
He also expressed confidence that XRP’s utility has expanded, suggesting that current price levels could appear inexpensive if the token enters another major rally. Notably, XRP demonstrated its capacity for a sharp move last year, climbing from $0.49 in November 2024 to $3.66 by July 2025—a gain of nearly 8X in less than a year.
Altcoin Season Is Coming
Moon Lambo further anticipated that the next altcoin season would create opportunities across various cryptocurrencies. While acknowledging that QNT and ZEC were unusual cases that benefited from recent rallies, he suggested that other assets could also perform well under improved market conditions.
He cautioned, however, that not every cryptocurrency would reach new all‑time highs even if the broader market rises.
His investment philosophy, he explained, involves spreading exposure across the crypto market, focusing on larger, utility‑driven assets, and holding them for the long term. This approach, he argued, allows investors to capture unexpected price increases without trying to predict which token will outperform.
Long‑term holding, however, carries risks. Some assets never recover, lose adoption, or result in permanent capital loss.
Overall, Moon Lambo’s central thesis is that extended periods of sideways price movement do not automatically render an asset dead. For XRP, optimism remains high that the token could surpass $3.84 and potentially reach $4 or higher, following a similar pattern to QNT and ZEC.
