XRP concluded the week just below the 50-week exponential moving average at $1.51, following trade within the anticipated $1.50–$1.60 range.

According to analyst ChartNerd, XRP adhered to his weekend forecast, trading sideways between $1.50 and $1.60 before closing below the 50-week EMA at approximately $1.51967.

ChartNerd noted that XRP may remain range-bound, with attention now on whether buyers can drive the price upward this week.

Aligning With Analyst Forecasts

ChartNerd’s recent analysis builds on his previous forecast that XRP would trade near $1.55 after briefly hitting $1.63. He anticipated the coin would remain between $1.50 and $1.60 due to declining volume and neutral funding rates.

Additionally, a CoinGlass liquidation heatmap revealed approximately $607 million in liquidations near $1.50 on Binance, underscoring the concentration of leveraged positions at that level.

Notably, XRP traded within that range over the weekend, consistent with ChartNerd’s prediction. The asset closed at $1.51575, slightly above $1.50 but beneath the 50-week EMA at $1.51967.

XRP Declines as Bitcoin Retreats From $85,000

XRP has also declined as the broader crypto market pulled back, led by Bitcoin. Per CoinMarketCap, XRP is trading at $1.47, down 2.7% in the last 24 hours, though still up 3.07% over the past week.

Bitcoin dropped 1.64% over the past 24 hours to $82,722 after reaching $85,126 earlier in the session, exerting pressure on other cryptocurrencies including XRP.

XRP has now also slipped below the $1.50 level ChartNerd highlighted as the key range over the weekend.

XRP Outlook

XRP’s next move hinges on whether buyers can retake the $1.50 level and the 50-week EMA, currently around $1.51.

In another post, ChartNerd warned of a potential drop toward $1.30, noting that XRP has closed below the 50-week EMA for six consecutive weeks, indicating sellers are still holding this level.

Conversely, buyers have support around $1.31, where the 20-week EMA is currently positioned.

ChartNerd also noted that XRP has struggled to break above the 50-week EMA and the $1.50–$1.60 resistance zone over the past six weeks, a scenario that preceded the drop below $1.00 in August.

If XRP can consistently close above the 50-week EMA, ChartNerd believes the price could advance toward $1.80–$1.90.

Liquidity Dynamics

Last week, ChartNerd highlighted a major liquidity test for XRP, with $2.7 billion in liquidation leverage clustered around $1.00 on the XRP/USDT three-month heatmap. CoinGlass data also shows significant liquidity around $1.80 and $2.00, placing XRP between major liquidity zones.

ChartNerd anticipates a sharp move as XRP remains trapped in a tight range, describing the setup as a potential “liquidity hunt.” Essentially, a dip to $0.98 is considered just as likely as a rise to $2, with the overall crypto market health determining which occurs first.
