Twelve-year-old Palestinian content creator Nisreen Skaik has spoken to Al Jazeera about the significance of winning a Junior Digital Creator Award, describing it as a vital platform to amplify the voices of children in Gaza.
Skaik, who recently celebrated her twelfth birthday, emphasized the responsibility she feels to represent her peers. “I had to deliver the voice of Gaza’s children to the world,” she stated, highlighting the award’s role in bringing international attention to their experiences.
The recognition underscores the growing influence of young digital storytellers documenting life in the enclave, offering unfiltered perspectives often absent from mainstream narratives.
