British rapper Yung Filly testified that the atmosphere was positive between him and the woman who has accused him of rape, following a performance at an Australian nightclub in 2024.
The performer, whose legal name is Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, gave testimony at the District Court of Western Australia.
on Monday, a week after the trial commenced.
He faces allegations of sexually assaulting a 20‑year‑old woman in his hotel room after a show in Hillarys, a coastal suburb of Perth.
Barrientos, aged 30, has entered a not‑guilty plea to six counts of non‑consensual sexual penetration, three counts of assault causing bodily harm, and one count of strangulation.
Barrientos informed the court that he had developed an interest in the woman when they encountered each other at the concert venue.
He was positioned in the VIP section, while she leaned over the barrier from the general admission area.
He maintains that he did not inappropriately touch her.
\”I recall placing my hand on her waist,\” he told the court, adding that he did not have his hands under her pants nor did he touch her breast.
Barrientos said that the \”vibes were good\” between them when they arrived at his hotel.
His security guard confiscated the woman’s phone, which he described as a \”standard practice\” to safeguard privacy.
Earlier testimony indicated that the two had engaged in consensual sexual activity before Barrientos allegedly became violent and she instructed him to stop.
