Former Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma is close to completing a move to Ajax, agreeing a short‑term contract that will keep him at the Eredivisie club until the end of the current season.

The 30‑year‑old defensive midfielder became a free agent after his release from Tottenham in June and is now set for a return to football in the Netherlands.

According to reports, Bissouma has signed a deal covering the remainder of the season, with an optional one‑year extension.

The Mali international is currently in Amsterdam finalising the transfer to the Eredivisie side.

He joined Tottenham in the summer of 2022, making 111 appearances for the north‑London club after a high‑profile transfer from Brighton.

In August 2025, Tottenham’s manager at the time, Thomas Frank, omitted Bissouma from the squad for the UEFA Super Cup clash against Paris Saint‑Germain, citing chronic lateness issues.

During his final season at Tottenham, Bissouma featured in 11 Premier League matches, with the club finishing 17th for the second successive campaign.
