Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Sunday that Ukraine is making preparations for another round of talks with envoys from the United States.
Zelensky said in a televised address, “More details will be released tomorrow. We are committed to ensuring that war does not become the sole path forward. It is vital that the United States aligns with our perspective on the situation.”
Meanwhile, the death toll from a Russian strike targeting a warehouse west of Kyiv—the deadliest assault of the conflict this year—has climbed to 38, with four individuals still unaccounted for, according to Zelensky.
The Friday night attack on the facility, which Ukrainian authorities say contained ammunition, triggered massive explosions and widespread fires that engulfed dozens of homes and structures in the village of Myla.
The strike occurred amid a significant escalation of Russia’s aerial offensive, with air raid alarms sounding repeatedly and the roar of air defenses echoing throughout Kyiv throughout the day.
Emergency responders are still working to extinguish lingering flames and locate and dispose of unexploded ordnance at the site, Zelensky reported on social media. At least 52 people sustained injuries, according to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the local regional military administration.
