12 Ex-WWE Performers Now Available as Free Agents

After a nearly three-month waiting period, a group of WWE talent released in April are now officially free to negotiate contracts with other wrestling promotions.

WWE announced the departure of approximately 25 performers on April 24, an unprecedented single-day roster reduction that included main roster names under 90-day non-compete agreements. As of today, all contractual restrictions have expired, opening opportunities for these wrestlers to sign with competing promotions.

The following former WWE performers are now available as free agents:

Aleister Black
Zelina Vega
Uncle Howdy (Bo Dallas)
Nikki Cross
Dexter Lumis
Erick Rowan
Joe Gacy
Santos Escobar
Chris Sabin
Alex Shelley
Zoey Stark

Several performers already have viable next steps in the wrestling industry. Sane, a former Stardom star and inaugural IWGP Women’s Champion, was midway through a complex storyline with IYO SKY and Asuka that never reached its planned conclusion. Black previously competed in AEW under the name Malakai Black. Sabin and Shelley, veterans of TNA, recently uploaded a YouTube video hinting at their future plans, with Fightful Select reporting in late April that their destination is expected to be AEW.

The Wyatt Sicks faction—comprising Dallas, Cross, Lumis, Rowan, and Gacy—debuted in June 2024 as a tribute to the late Bray Wyatt. Escobar, now performing under the moniker Hijo del Fantasma, was recently announced as a featured guest at San Diego Comic-Con, where his appearance suggested involvement in an upcoming feature film production.

WWE has not issued an official statement regarding the April talent reductions; information has been validated through industry reporting and direct communication from the performers themselves.
