2026 FedEx Cup Season Driver Breakdown: Titleist GT3 Dominates with Eight Victories

The 2026 PGA Tour season clearly belonged to drivers, a trend unmistakably reflected in the equipment choices of this year’s winners.

Throughout the season, drivers from Callaway, Ping, Srixon, TaylorMade and Titleist all secured victories, with TaylorMade and Titleist’s 2026 models claiming multiple wins apiece.

Remarkably, for the third consecutive season, a driver originally released in 2024 emerged as the season’s most successful model.

The Titleist GT3 dominated with an impressive eight victories, including three wins from Matt Fitzpatrick, making it the standout performer of 2026.

However, newer driver releases proved competitive as well. The GT3’s successors, the GTS2 and GTS3, each accumulated two victories after their spring release, demonstrating that updated technology could still compete effectively.

TaylorMade’s Qi4D driver family also recorded eight victories, establishing it as the most successful 2026 release. Srixon achieved a major championship win with their forthcoming ZXi RKT driver line.

Two key observations emerge from this season’s driver performance data.

First, the 2026 driver lineup proved exceptionally strong across manufacturers. From the GTS to the Qi4D and Quantum TD models, all these drivers achieved high conversion rates for their respective companies, translating into significant victory shares throughout the season.

Second, professional Tour players demonstrate remarkable loyalty to equipment that works for them. Even when potential performance improvements exist, many stick with trusted gear. Scottie Scheffler exemplified this approach, using his 2024 Qi10 for most of the season before switching to the Qi4D in August—a transition that preceded two FedEx Cup victories.

Distinguishing between practice-range performance gains and genuine tournament pressure trust remains crucial. These are fundamentally different scenarios.

The winningest drivers during the 2026 FedEx Cup season

No. 1 Titleist GT3 (8 wins by 5 players)

Last season, the combined 10 wins by the GT3 and GT2 drivers established it as the winningest driver family on the PGA Tour. This year, despite the introduction of its successor—the GTS lineup—the GT family continued its winning ways.

The GT3 carried the load this season, accumulating eight victories. Matt Fitzpatrick contributed three of those wins, while Cam Young added two more, notably using an 11-degree GT3 head for both victories. Additional GT3 winners included J.J. Spaun, Michael Brennan and Ricky Castillo. Jackson Koivun also secured a win using the GT2 at the 3M Open late this summer.

Given the GTS lineup’s quick success on Tour with four wins since June, the GT series’ dominance at the top likely concludes here. However, given its popularity and the proven longevity of Titleist drivers on Tour—Russell Henley won with a six-year-old TSi3 driver this season—additional GT victories in 2027 seem probable.

The remaining victories belonged to Wyndham Clark, who picked up the driver as a gear free agent and experienced a career resurgence as a result.

With McIlroy and Clark winning the Masters and U.S. Open respectively, the Qi4D secured half of this year’s major championships. Nelly Korda also claimed two major titles with the Qi4D on the women’s tour.

Notably, Viktor Hovland finally transitioned from his G425 LST driver after five-plus years with the model, adopting the 440 LST just weeks before his Travelers victory. Presumptive Rookie of the Year Alex Fitzpatrick also secured a win with the G440 LST this season.

PING G440 LST Custom Driver

The G440 driver family (MAX, LST, SFT) is optimized to deliver more ball speed through multiple advancements, including PING’s deepest CG in a driver to date and a shallower, thinner face, while continuing to ensure the game-changing forgiveness expected from a PING driver. Poston with the GTS3 and Bud Cauley with the GTS2.

Tom Kim (GTS3) and Steven Fisk (GTS2) added victories the same week at the Genesis Scottish Open and ISCO Championship respectively in July.

With Justin Thomas, Cameron Young and several others now playing GTS, plus potential additional adoptions during the offseason, Titleist’s newest driver could rank near the top next season.

T4. TaylorMade Qi4D LS (2 wins by 2 players)

While this list features primarily more forgiving “core model” drivers that have come to dominate the PGA Tour, one “LS” low-spin model still secured multiple victories this season.

Both Collin Morikawa and Michael Thorbjornsen captured their respective 2026 victories using TaylorMade Qi4D LS model drivers, demonstrating that the optimal driver choice depends on individual fit rather than maximum forgiveness.

On the women’s tour, Haeran Ryu also won two major championships with the LS driver, bringing the Qi4D family’s major championship total to four out of five on the women’s side.
