San Francisco 49ers wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling’s game took a worrying turn when he suddenly pulled up on one leg during a route, raising fears of a serious Achilles injury. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed after the 49ers’ 27-7 victory over the Los Angeles Rams that the rookie’s Achilles is intact, though he suffered a left ankle injury.

Stribling will undergo an MRI to assess the extent of the damage. The injury occurred early in the contest, and while he was initially listed as questionable, he managed to return to the sideline after some movement. But with 7:16 left in the first half, he again pulled up while running a route, unable to put weight on his left leg. He required assistance to reach the medical tent and was eventually carted to the X-ray room.

The 49ers quickly ruled him out for the remainder of the game. Stribling finished the afternoon without any receptions.
