63% of Religious Books on Amazon Are Likely AI-Written, Study Finds

**Nearly two-thirds of religious books sampled from Amazon’s catalog—over 2,000 titles across 14 categories—were found to likely use AI-generated content, according to Originality.ai. Witchcraft books topped the list, with a majority focusing on topics like healing crystals and herbal remedies, as noted by report author Michael Fraiman.

**Fraiman cautioned that the tool identifies likelihood, not certainty, and explained the analysis relied on book descriptions, author bios, and text samples (flagging content scoring above 50 on its likelihood scale). He emphasized that AI detectors remain imperfect, citing examples where the U.S. Declaration of Independence and a legal filing were misclassified by different tools.
