Henry Homayoun Radamson, an acclaimed Swedish expert in semiconductor technology, passed away in Shanghai at the age of 63.
Radamson, who relocated to China in 2016, served as the chief scientist at the Guangdong Greater Bay Area Institute of Integrated Circuit and System.
The institute announced on Tuesday that he died from a sudden illness on August 12.
In 2023, Radamson was honored with the Chinese Government Friendship Award, which recognizes individuals for their outstanding contributions to China’s development.
He was best known for his research in nanotechnology and its applications in medical diagnostics, as well as his work on developing short wave infrared chips.
The European Materials Research Society, where he was an executive committee member, stated, “His sudden loss leaves a profound void within the scientific community.”
