Israeli attacks on Gaza kill at least four, including children

At least four people have been killed and several wounded in Israeli attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip, health officials said.

At least three people, including two children, were killed and eight others were injured in an Israeli drone assault in the al‑Kateeba district west of Gaza City in northern Gaza on Tuesday morning, according to a medical source at al‑Shifa Hospital speaking to Al Jazeera.

Online images showed thick smoke rising and a series of explosions echoing across the area.

Reporting from Gaza City, Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud said he observed at least 13 drones in the vicinity during the attack.

“For 35 minutes there were nonstop attacks involving drones, three of them hovering at a dangerously low level,” he said.

“Security personnel on the ground say they spotted a group of special forces who engaged in a direct fire exchange. However, the aerial coverage was so intense that the situation was very chaotic,” he added.

In central Gaza, a separate Israeli strike in Deir el‑Balah resulted in at least one fatality, Al‑Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported in a statement, without providing further details.

The Israeli military said it struck multiple targets in Gaza, asserting that the operations were aimed at neutralizing threats to its forces.

Israeli television station Channel 12 reported hearing explosions across the Strip, while the Palestinian news network Quds said missiles and quadcopter drones were used in the assaults.

Since the so‑called “ceasefire” in Gaza took effect in October 2025, Israel has killed at least 1,320 Palestinians and injured more than 4,300.
